Opening announcements upon arrival at the event:

  • Welcome everyone to the 4th race of the season, this is the last race before we take a break and go have fun at the Six Hours of Mt Hood.
  • Free clinics: one for novice men and one for women racers. clinics start at 5pm. Meet at the grassy area across from the cafe and the bleachers. Look for our clinic instructors, who are both sporting a red Wenzel coaching jersey.
  • Registration is open and the course is open for pre-riding.
  • Series sponsors: "we like to thank our sponsors, all local companies with a big heart for cycling and bike racing."
  • Hopworks Urban Brewery has been our presenting sponsor since 2009.  This year they are celebrating their 10th anniversary. Please support them with your business, at 2 locations in Portland and 1 location in Vancouver.
  • HUB Short Track Special: Every day of the week throughout the series, Short Track racers will enjoy $1.00 off any beers and a free portion of pretzels and beer cheese sauce per two people at the Hopworks Bike Bar (on N Williams) and at their Vancoucer location!
  • Kids races start at 6:00pm. No more pre-riding on the mx course.

We have already 195 racers pre-registered and if you are among the next 50 people to register, you will still receive a very cool custom pint glass and finisher tag. Online registration for the 6 Hours closes on Friday at noon!

Tom - before the start of each race heat (after the sponsor roll call):

  • SAFETY FIRST! Ride within your limits and be safe around and when passing other riders
  • Let's keep things fun for everyone! We have racers of all levels and speeds and be courteous to everyone around you. This is just Monday Night Short Track.
  • Use proper racer etiquette when you like to pass another rider. Let them know you like to pass and wait until it is safe to pass.
  • Make sure you are racing with the correct plate and are staged in the correct group.
  • Make sure your plate is readable, in front of any brake and shifter cables, and secured with 3 pipe cleaners.
