Portland Racing - Portland Mountain Bike Short Track Series 2006

12/04 - Check out the great race reports by Pat Malach of Oregon Cycling Action (picked up by VeloNews... including his mention of the dead rat), Heidi Swift at Wend Magazine and Everyday's Athlete (yet more vivid tales about the dead rat and the rotten pumpkin barrier), Erik Voldengen, and Snow Curmudgeon Scott Bradway. Sounds like they all had a blast!

11/26 - Last Sunday, the third edition of the Kruger's Crossing Cyclocross Classic took place on a gorgeous Oregon fall day. We like to thank all 520 racers, the 30+ kiddie racers, and everyone who came out to cheer on others, or to volunteer!

Also a big thanks to our title sponsor Bike Gallery and our other generous sponsors Chris King, Laurelwood Brewery, Clif Bar, Rapha and Nossa Familia Coffee. And another shout to Don Kruger and the folks at Kruger's Farm for the great venue.

Final results of all races have been posted on the OBRA web site and there are some great action shots of Sunday's races posted by pdxcross.com, David Anderson, and Jose "Brujo" Sandoval.

Next year, we'll be back with more races at Kruger's. Besides the Kruger's Crossing CX Classic (Sun 11/22), the farm will again be the backdrop of the 3-race Kruger's Kermesse Farm Crit Series (8/23, 9/6 & 9/13). And of course, we hope to see you all at the two other knobbie-tired bike race events we will be staging close to Portland: the Horning's Hustle XC MTB Season Opener (Sun 4/5) and the Portland MTB Short Track Series (6/22 through 8/3). Quick, get that winter training program going!

On Sunday November 23th, Bike Gallery and Portland Racing bring you the third edition of the Kruger's Crossing Cyclocross Classic. This epic race will be held at Kruger's Farm, located in the beautiful countryside of Sauvie Island (only 20 minutes from downtown Portland!).

This will NOT be your usual cross race! Besides the challenges thrown at us by the November weather gods, you can expect a wild course that will lead you along rutted farm roads, through berry fields, pastures, a barn, a beer garden, and - weather and course conditions permitting - the much-heralded corn maze!

Check out the course map and the pictures from last year's race - here, here, here, and here - to have an idea what we are talking about!

Like last year, we'll have beer, hot wine, hot cider and gourmet food at hand, catered by Kruger's Farm Market and Salvador Molly's and we'll lighten up a bonfire along the course to keep everyone warm and toasty. For all our aspiring kids, we'll have a free kiddie race and throughout the day we will be raffling off a bunch of cool prizes. So mark your calendars for the one cross race this season you don't want to miss out on!
